Explainer video : Stranger Danger


CAUTION : For this week post, it's going to be gloomy and sad. I've search on the percentage of children who went missing. Just by looking at the number, my heart aches.. Thousands of questions rushed into my mind "The kids, are they okay? The parents must've missed their children.. Can they reunited again with their family members? How on earth people can have a heart to kidnap someone, knowing that it will hurt a lot of people..and the question goes on and on. 


So for last week assignment, our class have to create a campaign through animated presentations or animated explainer video. Thus, this STRANGER DANGER idea pops into our mind. To create awareness not just to parents, but also children on possibly will happened if they talk to strangers online and meet up with a complete stranger without their parents knowing.


Basically, this explainer video tell us about this little girl named Mariam who wanted to use her father's computer, but denied. However, we can see that instead of explaining why she can't use the computer (due to her own safety), her father said that she is too young to use one. So, eventually if parents keep doing that, their children might do the same thing like what Mariam has did. She sneaks into her father's study room and quietly uses the computer whilst he is asleep. 

It become disastrous especially when Mariam starts going out ALONE to meet the person whom she just know online. THIS IS UPSETTING, BECAUSE THIS INCIDENT DO HAPPENED AMONG THE TEENAGERS. We truly understand that parents could not supervise their children every single second, but we also think that as parents, you should do whatever it takes to protect your love one. If you can't protect them 24/7, then teach your children on how to protect themselves. As for this campaign, we would like to share with parents, and teenagers out there regarding this application.

This application is specially designed for Malaysians who want emergency assistance using smartphone applications. All three SaveME 999 applications serve as a tool for them to send applications emergency assistance through the channel without sound. This application uses broadband internet facilities to send emergency requests. It also uses the Global Positioning System (GPS) to determine the user's position. Users can activate this app by pressing the 'SaveME 999' icon on the smartphone screen. When an emergency assistance request is made, the GPS address, user registration information and emergency type will be sent to the 999 Emergency Call Center. Additional information on incident and incident location may also be added to the submitted application. All this information will help the emergency agencies to send help faster and more accurately. The SaveME 999 app will definitely benefit users by providing services nationwide as well as all types of emergency incidents.
